Thomason Norman Steele

1932 - 2006

Although Tom Steele was known to many as a rancher, marine biology researcher, marketer, auto repair center owner, famous motorcycle racer, world-class sailor, and marathoner, he was also an accomplished musician. During the three years he attended Pacific Union College, from 1950 to 1953, Steele was principal trumpet in the college band, a popular ensemble of nearly 70 members directed by John J. Hafner. After leaving college, he played trumpet with several well-known orchestras.
