Sung-Jung Kim is associate professor in piano, music theory and composition, and music technology at Oakwood College, a position he has held since 2006. He was previously associate professor of music and dean of the music school at Northern Caribbean University in Mandeville, Jamacia.

Kim completed a B.A. at Seoul National University in Korea in 1989, a master's degree at Andrews University in 1992, and a Ph.D. at Michigan State University in 1998.
