Kevin Schafer, 1990 music education graduate from Canadian Union College University and freelance saxophone teacher and performer in Southeastern Washington, died September 10, 2002 in a motorcycle accident. An accomplished performer with a master's degree in performance from Northwestern University, Schafer had taught at Kingsway College in Canada and several other Adventist academies. He most recently taught at Tri-Cities Academy in Pasco, Washington and was an adjunct instructor in saxophone at Walla Walla College and nearby Whitman College.
