Jean Magno Ouro
1963 -
Jean Magno Ouro, born in Ilheus, Bahia, Brazil, is an amateur musician who has sung and played in several different groups. Because his father, Jordeo, was a pastor and the family moved frequently, he was unable to study and participate in music until at age thirteen he attended a Seventh-day Adventist boarding school. In those years, he was inspired by several of his music teachers, including Turibio de Burgo, Domingos da Luz, Eli Prates, and Harry Joseph Bennet, Jr.
Following graduation from Northeast Adventist Brazil College in 1984, he attended Southwestern Adventist University, where he studied theology and completed degrees in 1989 in computer science and industrial engineering. He subsequently completed an M.S. in computer science. While teaching at Grao Pará Adventist school and now Northeast Brazil Adventist College, where is a professor in industrial engineering, he has taught music privately.
Jean is married to Connie Deann Blount do Ouro, who is a singer. Both of their children, Jordon and Stephanie, are active in music.
