Heidi Cerna

Heidi Cerna, a pianist and choral conductor, is chair of the music department at Central Philippine Adventist College, a position she has held since 2010. Previous to this appointment, she served as music department chair at the Adventist University of the Philippines and coordinated its music building project. In addition to these responsibilities, she was active in community outreach projects and health and work-study programs at AUP.

After serving at AUP, she was invited to start the music degree program at CPAC. She also organized a Bible, Health, and Music Camp, a unique program for young Adventist musicians in the Philippines. The holistic approach to integrating Bible and health into the study of music is now being used as a new approach to child evangelism and is helping young musicians prepare for missionary work.

Cerna, known for her musical talents, commitment to Adventist music, and personal organization, completed an M.Mus. in choral conducting at Andrews University and a D.M.A in piano at Claremont Graduate School in California. She has released a CD, Jesus, My Song, which features her piano arrangements and playing of familiar hymns. More recently, she recorded Amazing Grace, a CD of hymns that has been distributed free by the thousands for evangelistic purposes in Asia.
