Edrene DeShield Malcolm

1953 - 

Edrene Malcom, a native of Warwick, Bermuda, graduated from the Bermuda Institute, the Seventh-day Adventist secondary school in that country. A talented soprano, she won awards in music competitions in Bermuda while attending BI and then sang in choirs at Oakwood College, now University, under the direction of Jon Robertson while completing majors in English and behavioral science.

Following graduation from OC in 1972, Malcom completed an M.Ed. at Alabama A & M University. She taught English at OC and was a writing specialist in the school's Center for Academic Advancement. She has sung on numerous occasions on the campus and in the community and worked with her accompanist, Lillian Redcross, in creating the original arrangements they perform.
